Ice Dyeing uses fiber reactive dyes sprinkled over ice or snow. Using soda ash as a catalyst, the dyes bond with the fibers on a molecular level.
Translation: the colors become part of the material and don't run or fade like summer camp tie dye

Fiber Reactive Dyes are used, and as part of the process the dye actually becomes part of the molecular structure of the fabric.

Fiber Reactive dyes are the ONLY dyes that this is true of. Natural dyes from plants and insects are not permanent. If you do have sensitive skin, we do recommend washing prior to wearing with your home detergent.

Fiber reactive dyes, when used in the small amounts that a home dyer or a small business would, actually do have a pretty low impact on the environment. The waste water is easily broken down into harmless molecules by microbes in our soil and waste water treatment plants. The chemical used to make the dyes react is soda ash; this is found in laundry detergents and swimming pools and is used in such small amounts that it makes a minimal impact. Salt is also used, but when combined with the rinse water and diluted in the water system, it isn’t a problem. Procion dyes work at low temperatures and have a 70% absorption rate, so little washes out. In fact, in Europe the dyes meet all European Union criteria for being an eco-friendly colorant.

Each item comes pre-washed, and the colors should not run. Most of our items can be washed in your washing machine on a gentle cycle. Wash item by itself on cold with a gentle detergent and fabric softener. Air dry. Each item has been extensively washed multiple times with a professional textile detergent that is designed to "trap" dye before it gets to you.

We also recommend hand-washing in cold water with a gentle detergent. Do not let item soak. Rinse with a fabric softener and then rinse out. Blot/wrap item in a towel, do not twist or wring out. Then air dry.

A note on hand-washing, certain colors of dye will release trapped dye particles into the water. This doesn't mean your item is fading. We use strong, permanent, professional-grade dyes that bond with fibers on a molecular level.

Order processing time is dependent on the item. Custom orders will be shipped within 3 - 6 weeks but may vary depending on our project queue (there's just two of us), size of order, and detail of design.

Ohio Drip prides itself on customer satisfaction as our mission is to make your life colorful. If you are not fully satisfied with your purchase, you may return the unworn item in the original condition within 7 days of delivery for a refund. After 7 days, no returns or exchanges will be accepted. Ohio Drip will not accept returned items with any signs of wear or without the original packaging.

All sales are final on "special items" - no refunds or exchanges - only store credit.

All returns must be in new, unworn condition. Upon inspection, a refund, store credit, or exchange will be provided.

Customers are responsible for all additional shipping costs for returns and exchanges unless informed otherwise.

We do not assume any responsibility for the loss or damage of returned goods while they are in transit from the customer. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that the return item(s) are packaged and delivered intact, unworn and in original purchased condition, and we strongly recommend using an appropriate carrier with a tracking system. If any matters of liability arise, they will be dealt with and settled between the customer and the return shipping company directly.

We ship domestically using USPS first class & priority mail in the United States. Normally your item will take 1-3 business days to process after it's ordered. We ship USPS ground so depending on where you live your package will arrive in 2-4 days after shipping from Ohio. This means you would get your item anywhere in 3 to 7 business days under ideal conditions. If you need to upgrade your shipping to Priority Mail, please select that option at check out.

Special projects and custom orders may require extra time and special shipping. Customer will be consulted prior to shipping.
